There are 2 main types of rocket, wild and arugula (speedy). Wild rocket is a different plant to speedy rocket, having the botanical name diplotaxis tenuifolia compared to the speedy rocket which is eruca sativa. Arugula or speedy rocket varieties are more mild in flavour and are more succulent, whereas wild rocket is hotter and generally more spindly.

Our Rocket Variety - Darkway

This rocket is a luscious dark green and is very succulent. It's open-pollinated and not hybridised, so if it self seeds you'll keep getting the awesome variety popping up in your garden for seasons to come.

It enjoys a fertile, moist soil and will reward regular applications of Oceana with delicious green growth. Make sure you wash the leaves before eating even with organic fertilisers, best leave the seaweed and fish emulsion where it belongs.

How long between plantings of Rocket should I wait to get continual harvests?

In short: 3 weeks

3 weeks is a good marker to plant rocket for successional harvests. Rocket is a really handy cut-and-come-again salad vegetable, meaning once it's harvested it's not the end of the story, it will grow back so you can eat it again (just make sure to leave at least 1 inch of the stem so it can still photosynthesize!).
